Proper methods of conservation restoration. This oriel window was in very bad repair (see later picture). Detailed measurements are taken and mouldings and components are made. These are then pieced in to the remaining parts of the original fabric using appropriate scarf jointing.

The mouldings were meticulously copied onto air seasoned oak. Split are allowed because of their presence in the existing structure.

The stair was designed with the aid of research into stairs of the Elizabethan era. Note the handrail top is the same width as the newel, while its base is the width of the hand turned baluster.
